Directions:
Boil the lentils in the water until tender and mushy, about 20 minutes.
In another pan, heat the oil and when hot add the cumin seeds and fry until they start to pop. Turn down the heat and add onions, garlic,and ginger and turmeric and cook until soft.
Stir in garam marsala and salt and remove from the heat.
When lentils are soft, add onion mixture to them and simmer for about 5 minutes- add more water if needed.
Check seasonings and adjust if needed. |
