Directions:
oven 200 C
cream butter and sugar
add eggs beat well then add dry ingredients
spread half the pastry into a tin
top with the frozen or fresh fruit [tinned apples and frozen or fresh gooseberry's]
grate or roll out remaining pastry to cover the fruit
bake for about 20 min at 200 then turn down to 180 for a further 15 to 20 min until top is golden brown and crisp
dust with icing sugar and serve with the whipped cream
NB this will take longer to cook with a larger quantity
