Directions:
1) Put yeast, sugar and warm water into jug, mix & stand 5-10 mins.
2) Melt butter, add milk. Mix ½ cup of it with the yeast mixture and 1 ½ cups flour.
3) Cover, stand in a warm place until doubled in size (15-20 mins).
4) While this rises, add ¼ cup sugar to the rest of the butter/milk mixture, heating and dissolve.
5) Add cinnamon, mixed spice, salt, vanilla essence, eggs and sultanas.
6)Stir in the risen yeast mixture. Add flour gradually till dough is firmish.
7) Knead for 5 mins – this dough is stickier than plainer dough.
8) Cut dough into 20 pieces & ball onto a greased pan. Cover with plastic bag. Leave to double in size (about 30 mins).
9) Mix ½ cup flour, 2 Tbsp oil and water so that mixture is pipeable & pipe crosses on risen buns.
10)Bake 200°c for 10-15 mins.
11) Brush with sugar water, cover.
