Directions: Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Cream butter and sugars in a mixer until pale and creamy. Add eggs, hot water and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda. Add to butter mixture and stir thoroughly with wooden spoon, then add chocolate chips and mix through. Drop teaspoonfuls of mixture onto baking trays lined with baking paper and bake for 8-10 min.
